McFadden's new teammate, Maurice Jones-Drew confirms that the duo are on track to work as a tandem this coming season, reports. "I know they want Darren and I to split carries, which is perfectly fine," said Jones-Drew, who signed with the Raiders last month. "But we'll get a chance to compete."

Analysis: When McFadden re-signed with the Raiders last month, it looked like he might end up with a clearer path toward reclaiming the team's top RB gig, but the presence of Jones-Drew, as well as Latavius Murray to a lesser degree, ensures that he'll face viable competition in training camp, with a potential time-share in store as long as both Jones-Drew and McFadden can stay on the field.

Though suggests that a strong training camp from Murray could help him emerge as a factor in the team's offense this coming season, he now faces competition from both Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew.

Analysis: Both McFadden and Jones-Drew have dealt with injury issues in the past, but as long as they are both healthy, Murray -- who spent his rookie season on IR due to an ankle injury -- figures to be hard-pressed to see enough carries to merit fantasy attention.

ESPN's Rich Cimini suggest that Goodson (knee) could be the odd man out in the Jets' backfield, now that Chris Johnson has joined the team.

Analysis: With Johnson slated to work in tandem with Chris Ivory, and Bilal Powell still around, Cimini suggests that Goodson -- who landed on IR with a torn ACL/MCL last October -- is probably "on thin ice" with the Jets as the 2014 campaign approaches.

Johnson (knee) has signed a two-year deal with the Jets, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. The base value of his deal is reportedly $8 million.

Analysis: While it figures to be difficult for Johnson to see as many carries (279) as he did last season en route to recording 1,077 rushing yards for the Titans last season, he makes for a nice complement to Chris Ivory, who emerged as the Jets' busiest back down the stretch last season. Moreover, Johnson's ability as a pass-catcher figures to boost the team's backfield -- which also rosters Bilal Powell -- while his durability (he's suited up for all 16 games in his last five seasons) is also a plus, given Ivory's injury history.

James -- whose 2013 season ended with a broken left ankle last November -- is progressing well in his recovery, the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Analysis: The report notes that James, who played at about 228 pounds last season, has added some muscle to his upper body. Meanwhile, James has been running and in his words, is "very, very close" to being fully cleared. Once he's up to speed, James (who now checks in at 232 pounds) is in line to compete with Bobby Rainey for work behind the Bucs' top back, Doug Martin.
